CHINESE ANTIQUES IN SEPTEMBER’S AUCTION – YOU DON’T WANT TO MIS THIS!
As some of you may know, HELANDER has been auctioning some rare and beautiful Chinese antiques during the spring of 2014. Luckily we have some of these Items in our September’s auction as well. And now for the first time, you have the change to meet the man behind this collection!

THE STORY BEHIND THE COLLECTION
A retiring Finnish principal scientist wanted to sell a major part of his Chinese antique Items collection, and we have the honor to auction some of these Items in our monthly auctions. Some of the collection has already been sold at the Mays and Junes auctions, but some are still unsold and will be auctioned in September (13-14.9) at HELANDER.
This private collection has been generated over a period of almost 30 years. The collection comprises of Items suitable for a novice as well as a more advanced collector- reflecting a typical process for a collector yearning for more valuable and rare Items when the knowledge accumulates.
Item 198: Painted pottery horse and rider, Han dynasty (202 BC – 220 AD). Height 42 cm, length 40 cm No visible signs of restoration. However, a vast majority of these delicate items have sustained some restoration often invisible to the eye. Small crack on a hoof.

A private meeting will be arranged for customer’s already in positions of some of the Items from his collection. Please note that an invitation to the private meeting will be sent by e-mail. The private meeting will take place on the12th of September, from 7pm to 8pm.
Item 952: Set of 12 zodiac figures, Ming dynasty (1368-1644 AD). Each attendant is holding one of the 12 animals of the Chinese Zodiac representing the 12 cyclic years of the Chinese calender. Good condition, no sighs of repair. Height about 18 cm.
Item 105: Jade or other hardstone ram, Ming dynasty (1368-1644 AD) Length 21 cm. Good condition. No signs of repair. Tip of a horn very minor crack about 1 one millimeter
